Tasting Note A soft, fruity wine, with blackberry, coffee and light vanilla on the nose and palate. Full, with very velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. This is right on the mark now. Best after 2010. –JS

This final blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and the rest split between Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot tips the scales at 14.5% natural alcohol. Sweet black currant fruit intermixed with cedar wood, licorice and some spice give this wine beautiful aromatics, as one should expect from a Margaux, medium to full body, silky tannins and a long finish. This is definitely a sleeper of the vintage and still underpriced for a classified growth from Margaux. Drink it over the next 15 years.
