Maranges wines. The white wines are made from the white Chardonnay grape variety. The pinot noir grape variety, for red wines, is particularly flourishing on this hillside. The white wines exude white flowers, with notes of gunflint or honey with a little age. Red wines are largely in the majority. They are powerful and fruity with blackcurrant and small candied red fruits. On the palate, they are fresh and liquoricey, with fat and peppery flavors. The presence of tannins and just the right amount of acidity make them wines that keep well. The first growths can wait up to 20 years during the best vintages.
