Premier Cru MOREY-SAINT-DENIS Clos Sorbè
It was in 1120 that we find the first mention of Morey, place of asylum for the monks of Cîteaux in the 14th century who probably owned many vines and even a winery already in 1306. The appellation extends to Chambolle-Musigny in Gevrey-Chambertin and has approximately 148 hectares composed of 80% red wines. The plot is located under the village of Morey-Saint-Denis between "Les Sorbès" and "Clos Baulet". It probably takes its name from an owner and measures only 3 hectares and 32 ares.
The vines are exposed to the East and the soils are composed of clay-limestone marl with white pebbles.
