Volnay wines have a rather feminine image, due to their finesse, their sap and their bouquet of violets, currants, cherries, and spices as they age. Game and cooked prunes can also accompany them. A certain precocity and a frank taste allow amateurs to taste these reds in their youth, but they are not lacking in aging potential.
