Vineyard & Terroir
Les Cassagnes de la Nerthe Côtes du Rhône-Villages is cultivated on the famed limestone and clay terraces near Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The stony soils ensure excellent drainage and stress the vines just enough to concentrate flavors in the grapes.
Climate
The warm Mediterranean climate, tempered by the Mistral wind, guarantees ripe fruit with fresh acidity. Daytime heat and cool nights promote the development of vibrant aromatics and refined structure.
Winemaking Process
After hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo gentle crushing and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Extended maceration allows for optimal extraction of color, tannins, and varietal aromas.
Blending & Aging
The final assemblage—typically 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah—matures for 12 months in a combination of large oak foudres and neutral barrels. This approach preserves the wine’s fresh fruit character while adding subtle complexity.
Tasting Notes
