The color of these grands crus is dark and deep, ranging from dark ruby to black cherry. They offer a complex blend of aromas of red berries, blackcurrant, licorice, spices, flowers, moss, and forest floor. Both robust and delicate, they are opulent and elegant on the palate, with a long finish. While their character can be appreciated when young, these are undeniably wines with great aging potential. Long renowned, Chambertins were already present in the royal cellars of Versailles and were enjoyed at the White House by U.S. President Thomas Jefferson.
