Les Pitures is a Premier Cru vineyard within the Volnay appellation. It borders the village, and its vines face south and east. The soil is composed of hard limestone at the base and marly limestone above.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested. Light crushing and destemming of the grapes. Cold maceration for a few days, followed by fermentation with regular pump-overs and punch-downs. Aged in barrels (approximately 20% new oak) for 14 months. Blended one month before bottling.
