Château La Nerthe is one of the most beautiful and renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape estates, with a rich and long history. By 1750, the vineyard covered nearly 50 hectares and was already exporting throughout Europe and even to Moscow. The first bottling at the estate took place in 1784. Today, under the management of Rémi Jean, these 92 hectares of vines are cultivated organically, without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or synthetic pesticides.
Winemaking
The wine is made using a blend of grape varieties and separate varieties. Maceration takes place in wooden vats with automatic punch-downs, following the Burgundian method (pumping the cap down into the vat) to promote the extraction of tannins and color. Aging is carried out exclusively in new oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
This is a great wine. The initial nose is spicy, with notes of cigar and incense, followed by the fruit, remarkably pure. It is firm and concentrated on the palate, with well-integrated and perfectly balanced tannins.

Serving Suggestion: Serve at around 16°C (61°F), with robust meats such as venison fillet, haunch of roe deer, roast wild boar with pepper sauce, roast woodcock, or even pheasant terrine or lamb with tapenade.
