Facing southeast, Puligny-Montrachet "Sous le Puits" is located at the top of the Blagny hill, just above "La Garenne." "Puits" comes from the Old French word "puis" (well) and could refer to springs, suggesting the presence of a spring in this location.
Winemaking
Traditional vinification in open vats. 100% malolactic fermentation. Aged for 8 to 10 months in oak barrels, 50% of which are new, with a medium toast.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant pale gold color. Complex nose with aromas of white peach and vanilla. Full-bodied, round, and elegant on the palate, with notes of marzipan and acacia honey. Very long finish.
Serving Suggestion
Serve at 12-13°C with foie gras, Bresse chicken, or creamy cheeses.
