Red Wine Chiroubles AOP - Beaujolais

It was in 1836 that Léon Félissent, a silk merchant from Lyon, acquired the vineyard, which he then developed and modernized. Château de Raousset, as it exists today, was built around 1850 by the Count of Raousset, Léon Félissent's grandson. Today, the Château remains the property of the founding family. It currently cultivates approximately thirty hectares of vines, primarily spread across the three crus of Chiroubles (Bel Air), Fleurie (Grille Midi), and Morgon (Douby). Almost the entire estate is planted with Gamay on granitic soils with varying degrees of clay content, depending on the appellation. A portion is also planted with Chardonnay for the production of white wine.

Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand, and vinification is carried out using whole bunches in concrete tanks. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation last approximately 8-10 days before pressing. The wine is aged in old oak casks for approximately 8 months.

Tasting Notes
It has a beautiful, bright ruby-red color. Fruity notes (raspberry, blackcurrant) dominate. The palate is fresh and displays lovely red fruit aromas, very characteristic of the grape variety and the appellation.

Serving Suggestion
Serve between 14-15°C. This wine is perfect with a good roast veal.
